Person-centred counselling is a humanistic approach that puts you at the heart of the process. It’s based on the belief that you are the expert on your own life. My role is to offer a safe, non-judgemental space where you can explore your feelings and experiences freely and at your own pace.

The first session is a chance for us to get to know each other. We’ll talk about what’s brought you to counselling and what you’re hoping for. There’s no pressure to share anything you’re not ready to, we’ll go at your pace.

This varies from person to person. Some clients come for a few sessions to work through something specific, while others prefer longer-term support. We’ll review regularly to make sure it’s still working for you.

Yes, confidentiality is a vital part of counselling. There are a few legal and ethical exceptions (for example, if there’s a risk of serious harm), which I’ll explain clearly in our first session.

That’s completely okay. I offer a free 20-minute consultation so you can ask questions and get a feel for how I work, there’s no obligation to continue.

Yes, I offer online counselling via a secure video platform. It’s a flexible option if you have limited mobility, or simply prefer meeting from the comfort of your own space.

Absolutely. You’re free to pause or end counselling whenever you choose. It can be helpful to have a planned ending, but it’s always your decision.

No, I adhere to the BACP Code of Ethics, and unless I believe there is a risk of significant and immediate harm to you or others, I will not share any information without your consent.

We can have regular reviews of our work together, you will be the best judge of whether the process is achieving the results that you hope for.
